Recovery Project

Over the years, I shot a fair amount of Fuji Peel-apart film in an old Polaroid 360 camera. They no longer make the film, and the remainder market has pushed prices to the point where my camera will likely sit unused from now on. I somehow ended up keeping the backing paper from a handful of the positive photos I made, and have found a way to bring a unique “negative” back to life, via some inexpensive cling bleach gel. I did a run of the recovery process, and here are the results. Converted to black and white because that’s my jam. I am in love with schmutz, dust, rough edges, imperfections and blur. Beauty is subjective, after all.
